Air to Breathe.
I can barely contain the air
that I'm supposed to breathe.
Tell me, is this how living
is supposed to be?
I'm in constant mental agony,
wondering when it will all cease -
end, crumble, dissipate -
when the empire will decease.
I'm tired of the act.
This crown's not for me.
The elegance and confidence,
a facade meant for royalty.
While I'm neither that,
not a queen nor princess nor flea,
I'm hanging around inside
on the castle walls really.
What I am is an imposter,
faking happiness with glee.
One who can barely contain the air
they're supposed to breathe.
