 SUBMIT to unootha

Unootha is community-led—we wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the creative spirits of women across West Asia, North Africa, and beyond. One of our biggest goals is to ensure that it remains a safe space for the expression of that creative spirit, whether it be in the form of visual art, written work, or anything else you’ve created.

Through Unootha, you have two submission pathways. You can submit to our journal: a space that is infinitely open and themeless. Here, you can submit anything you’d like, whenever you’d like. Or, you can choose to submit to our issues—collections of work falling under a single theme—that are released periodically throughout the year. We are not currently accepting submissions to any issue.

Who is eligible to submit to Unootha?

We accept the work of all women based or from the Southwest Asia and/or North Africa.

If you have any questions about your eligibility, please reach to us via contact@unootha.com with your inquiry.

Additional things to note:

  • We try our best to respond to all submissions as soon as possible. Unootha is led by a team of young volunteers, so we hope you can understand if it takes us a bit of time to ensure all your work is finalized! Along with working on Unootha, we are college students, employees, and beyond.

  • If it’s been more than two weeks and you have not received any email from us regarding your submission, please follow up with us!

  • We’ll also try our best to promote your work on our social media accounts, but we cannot guarantee it due to the high volume of submissions and content.

  • If your piece has been rejected from Unootha, you can still opt in to receive feedback from us! Just let us know via email.
