Mariam Tafsiri is a British-Iranian artist creating works inspired by Middle Eastern miniature paintings and Persian Qajar art. Her work combines modern illustrations with photographs taken by her on travels across the region. Her interest in Qajar art developed at an early age, taking inspiration from the unibrowed women who present a very different concept of beauty to that regularly portrayed in the West.
