Unootha is an e-mag and platform for MENA creatives – but it’s anything you, the reader, want it to be.

Our main objective is to create a safe space and community for creatives to freely express themselves. We carry the work and represent not only Arab womxn, but also womxn creatives of all ethnicities currently or previously based in the MENA region.

Unootha means womanhood in arabic, which is what our e-mag and platform hopes to explore. The lack of representation of Arab womxn in traditional media and the growing stigma growing against those of MENA descent makes conversations of these nature of incredible importance. We hope to expand the narrative of what it means to be a womxn in our contemporary MENA region.

This is a community meticulously constructed by Middle Eastern and North African women for the world to read, to enjoy and to learn from. Regardless of who you are, what you identify as or what you believe in, welcome to Unootha! We’re happy to have you here.
